Poem

"He Is Not Just a Scorecard — He Is a Story"

A tribute to every child who carries more than just marks.

When doorbells ring, but doors stay closed,
And the child inside stays composed —
Not with peace, but silent fear,
Of results he dreads the world to hear.

When footsteps hush and whispers grow,
He assumes each one is a personal blow.
When “How was it?” feels like a dart,
Straight into his tender heart.

When books once hugged with joyful trust,
Now gather silence, layers of dust.
When his cricket bat rests by the wall,
And his laughter doesn’t answer calls.

When his favorite food has lost its taste,
And joy is something he cannot chase.
When friendships thin, and smiles retreat,
Because the competition was too elite.

When parents of friends call to say,
"How much did he get today?"
But no one asks the child instead,
What dreams dance inside his head.

When Einstein is mocked in exam debates,
As if JEE sealed all fates.
No one stops to gently ask,
What strength it took to wear that mask.

When prayers become a desperate plea,
A deal with God, not serenity.
"Let me pass, and I will pray,
Just don’t take my dreams away."

When pizza, movies, birthdays too,
All wait for ranks to come through.
And celebrations are shelved in pain,
Till numbers bring their sweet refrain.

Will this race ever find its end?
Will peace return and spirits mend?
Will the child shout, without a tear —
"Yes, I made it! I am here!"

But until then — don’t ask, just be,
A hand to hold, a soul set free.
If results were gold, he’d proudly shine,
But if he’s quiet, respect the sign.

He is not just a rank, a grade, a chart —
He is a storm, a fire, a fragile heart.
He is late nights, he is every fight,
He is courage tucked in fear and fright.

And if the Divine, in love so wide,
Does not condemn when we confide…
If God forgives with silent grace,
Why must we rush, why invade space?

So be the calm when he can’t speak,
The silent hug when he feels weak.
Be the whisper that gently says:
"You matter still — in all your ways."

Final Lines---

Don’t weigh a child by just a score.
He’s a story — so much more.
In your love, let him see:-
“You’ll always be enough for me.”
